Becky D. Foodie Ultimate Feast Review

The Return of Red Lobster?

October 05, 20252 min read

It used to be that going to Red Lobster was considered by many a place for a fanciful feast, the place of choice to take a first date or even to celebrate life's milestones. But since the early 2000s, the establishment has not been the same. Both the quality of the food and the level of service starkly declined, making Red Lobster a less than favorable location when deciding where to have dinner.

In recent years, however, after facing possible closure due to dwindling crowds, Red Lobster took a bold step towards change by hiring a younger than average CEO, tasking him with the rescuing the once dominate restaurant.

Since being put in that position, this young CEO has managed to bring Red Lobster back from oblivion. Their menu is returned with many of the classic Red Lobster favorites, with the addition of some new viral sensations, namely their seafood boils.

I recently was able to return to Red Lobster to see the changes for myself. It's a much smaller menu, which is great compared to the massive "book" of a menu they used to have, and they had great options for the individual as well as for sharing. Though I had been kicking around the idea of trying their newly added seafood boils, my husband and i chose Red Lobster's Ultimate Feast. We got to choose two different seafood options as well as sides. This allowed for both of us to enjoy 2 lobster tails, coconut shrimp, regular fried shrimp, a baked potato and rice for the sides. This was more than enough food for the both of us and it was very tasty. My only complaint would be that we needed more butter, but that's just a person preference. Overall, all the entrees were very delicious. We left full and satisfied.
