My journey in the beauty industry began long before Becky D. Beauty became an online brand. I've been a licensed cosmetologist since 2011, gaining much of my professional experience behind the scenes of fashion shows, editorial photo shoots, music videos, and entertainment productions.

Working in these creative environments gave me opportunities to collaborate with talented artists, explore different techniques, and develop a deeper appreciation for the artistry behind hair and makeup.

With a background in music and entertainment, creativity has always been a part of who I am. So when a back injury made it necessary for me to step away from providing traditional cosmetology services, I found a new way to continue doing what I love.

I began transitioning into digital content creation, sharing my knowledge, creativity, and professional experience with audiences online. That journey eventually grew into Becky D. Beauty Academy, where I now focus on making beauty education accessible, encouraging, and enjoyable for learners of all experience levels.

Today, Becky D. Beauty continues to grow beyond makeup and hairstyling, bringing together beauty, education, entertainment, lifestyle, and faith.
